1)Rossa ASAP 

This pocket-friendly Italian restaurant is best known for its Pizzas, Arancini and Minestrone Soup. A sumptuous meal at Rossa ASAP, based in Kamla Nagar is perfect for people living in PGs near bungalow road, the north campus and surrounding areas. The strategic location and hassle-free commute to this joint make it favourable for students who study around the area or live in PGs near bungalow road, Delhi’s student hub due to its proximity to the North campus. You can check out their selection of desserts, smoothies and shakes to go along with their pasta. Our favourite is the Spaghetti Alfredo with Mushrooms. 

2)Tonino’s

A go-to Italian restaurant in Delhi, Tonino has been around for decades. This cosy and elegant joint with open seating should be on every Italian food junkie’s list. They have a little bakery outside where you can get some bread to go, post a sumptuous meal here. We recommend trying the Caesar Salad, Marechiaro Pizza, and the most authentic Italian Tiramisu in Delhi. Dining here is slightly pricey, but the mouth-watering variety and impeccable service make it truly worth it. 

3)Diggin 

Jammed with college students, Diggin is an unvarying feature on every Delhi student’s Instagram news feed.  The gorgeously decorated restaurant with delicious food makes it the perfect hub for any occasion – a date, lunch or just to hang out with friends. If you are at a girl’s PG in Delhi, next to Gargi or Kamala Nehru College, we are pretty sure that this place has already been frequented by you. Wait for the winter months to sit at their charming patio and don’t forget to gorge on their delicious pasta while you’re at it. Try out their Rosemary Grilled Chicken (perfect for those on a diet!), Farmer’s Fresh Veggie Pizza and Spaghetti Aglio Olio. Their desserts and milkshakes, take the cake. 

4)FIO – Cookhouse and Bar

Fio’s cookhouse and bar will transport you to a different landscape- an intimate ambience with indulgent décor, this place is a must-visit. We recommend ordering the Penne Picante, any of their wood-fired pizzas (you just can’t go wrong with these), the lamb lasagne and the Truffle Porcini Risotto. This place definitely should be reserved for the days you want to splurge because their cocktails and sangria are too good to give a miss. 

5) Jamie’s Italian  

A low effort and casual dining experience, chef Jamie Oliver’s restaurant won’t disappoint you when you have sudden pasta and pizza cravings. The booth seating, exposed ceilings and budget-friendly menu make it a nice place for students and adults both. Try out their classic penne arrabbiata, Jamie’s Big Five Salad, Classic Pepperoni Pizza, Funghi Misti Pizza, Prawn Linguine, Lasagne Verdure and Mushroom Lasagne. The average cost is Rs.1000 for two and this place is great value for money while providing an appetising experience. 

6)Big Chill

There is no way that you have not heard of the famous, exclusive to Delhi – Big Chill Cafe. Not authentic Italian, but the Italian we all grew up eating, Big Chill needs to be your first meal out when you visit this city. And you will come back for more!! Another great spot that is located close to popular colleges and next to many boys and girls’ PGs in Delhi, this café is the perfect spot to chill out with your friends, without having to travel too far. It started off as a quaint café in Kailash colony but is now located at multiple popular hubs and near student hostels in Delhi. Their Penne Vodka, Angry pasta, Spaghetti Carbonara, Spaghetti Bolognese are a must-try. If the saying ‘desserts to die for’ was coined in the 21st century, it would be here at Big Chill. (You got the memo – we are Big Chill groupies!)

7) Smoke House

Smoke House Deli has a very pristine all-white ambience that makes it stand out from the other Italian restaurants on this list. Apart from some palatable Italian food, they have a great breakfast menu as well, in case you prefer Sunday brunch.  We recommend having their Basil Pesto Fettuccine Pasta, Ricotta Ravioli, Truffled Mac & Cheese and Spaghetti Meat Balls. They have an easy to comprehend extensive menu which will make both your heart and stomach happy. 

8) Cafe Delhi Heights

A dependable Italian joint – Cafe Delhi Heights, is tailor-made to tantalize the Indian taste buds. They have a build your own pasta and pizza option for those who don’t conform to the rules. And for the others, the must tries are the Spinach and Ricotta Cheese Ravioli, Arabiatta, Aglio e Olio and Spaghetti Carbonara. This place gives a very homely vibe and the cosy ambience makes your experience very enjoyable and pleasant. Their Oreo Cookie Shake is hands down the best in the city – even if you don’t want to indulge your sweet tooth, get it!!
