JEE 2024: Exam Dates, Removed Topics, and Winning Preparation Strategies

Jee Exam guide

The Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) is an important point for over 10 lakh aspiring engineers across India because it opens the doors to prestigious institutes like the IITs, NIITs, NSUT, DTU, and IIST. The journey toward JEE success is not just a test of academic prowess but a demonstration of resilience, dedication, and strategic preparation.

As the academic landscape evolves, staying updated on the crucial updates becomes paramount for JEE aspirants. The year 2024 brings with it a set of changes in the JEE examination, including modifications in the syllabus. In this JEE preparation guide, we will be shedding light on the updated exam schedule, exploring the topics that have been removed from the syllabus, and unravelling winning strategies that could be your ticket to triumph.

JEE 2024 Schedule

November 30 marks your last opportunity to submit your application for JEE Main 2024.

The examination journey begins with the first session of the exam, planned for January- February, followed by the second session scheduled for April. What’s unique this time around is that JEE registration will give you the flexibility to choose between participating in either session 1, session 2, or both. This provides a strategic advantage, allowing you to perform your best in pursuit of a superb overall score.

Flexibility in JEE 2024 Sessions

There’s good news if you are ambitious enough to take on the challenge of both sessions. The examination system acknowledges the effort and skill required for such an undertaking. The final result calculation will only consider the best score from the two sessions. Plus, you do not need to participate in both sessions to go through the application process again. A simple login during the session 2 window, a swift payment, and the option to change the exam centre if necessary – that’s all it takes.

On the flip side, if you opt for just one session (be it session 1 or 2), you will need to go through the entire registration cum application process for the IIT JEE entrance exam. It’s a reminder that each decision in this journey comes with its own set of considerations, and being well-informed about these details can be a game-changer in your preparation for JEE 2024.

Must Follow 2024 JEE Tips

Practice JEE-Level Questions:

  • Let’s start the JEE tips by asking you to engage in regular practice of JEE-level questions to foster analytical and logical thinking skills.
  • Attempt previous JEE question papers to familiarise yourself with the types of questions that may appear and to get accustomed to the exam format.
  • Enhance your speed by solving JEE-level problems under timed conditions, mirroring the exam environment.

Reference NCERT Books:

  • Recognise the importance of NCERT books as the foundational material for competitive exams like JEE.
  • Utilise NCERT books to build a strong conceptual understanding, as they often serve as the bedrock for more advanced topics.

Take Mock Tests:

  • Develop a robust exam mindset by regularly taking mock tests.
  • Sample papers can provide valuable insights into the question format, allowing you to fine-tune your exam strategy and time management skills.

Focus on Weaker Areas:

  • Identify and concentrate on your weaker areas as you progress through the JEE guide to fortify your understanding and improve your overall performance.
  • Strengthening concepts in areas of difficulty is crucial for achieving a well-rounded mastery of the syllabus.

Strategic Breaks:

  • Incorporate short breaks into your study routine. A 5 to 10-minute pause after an hour or two of concentrated study can enhance focus and retention.
  • During breaks, completely relax to recharge your mind for the next study session.

Proper and Timely Planning:

  • Recognise the significance of proper planning in achieving effective preparation.
  • Devise a study schedule that allocates sufficient time to cover all subjects, ensuring a balanced and comprehensive approach to the entire syllabus.

You must have realised by now that success in JEE is a journey that demands not just dedication but also a strategic and well-informed approach.
