Date Ideas in Delhi

If we had to pick any city in India to impress your crush, it would hands-down be Delhi. Delhi has a vibe like no other. With so many things to do and so many unique areas to explore, Delhi will have you spoiled for choice when looking for options. From fabulous restaurants that leave a lasting impression to offbeat ideas like visiting heritage sites to exploring the quaint streets of Delhi, there is a little something for everyone to appreciate and enjoy.

From fancy options to budgeted date ideas, here is a list of things to do with your crush.

Take Him/Her on a Furry date

Very few people dislike dogs, and if your crush is a dog lover, there is no better way to cheer them up than by taking them to a one-of-a-kind puppy café called Puppychino in Shahpur Jat. This little gem has some great food and drink options in the company of the cutest doggos! We recommend trying their Chicken Tikka Pizza or Peri-Peri Veg Pizza when you visit.

Take A Stroll or Plan a Picnic at Sunder Nursery

If the weather is nice, Sunder Nursery is the place to be. It is an ideal romantic location where you can plan a cute picnic or just simply can walk and talk peacefully. Sunder Nursery was known as the Azim Bagh or Bagh-e-Azeem and is a 16th-century heritage park next to the Humayun’s Tomb, a UNESCO World Heritage Site in the city. They have a farmers’ market on the weekend and the Fab café by the lake. The sprawling green gardens and symmetrical walkways, geometric flowerbeds, and gorgeous marble fountains exude a whole different feel.

Coffee or Tea Date At Champa Gali

Champa Gali has some great cafes and coffee shops like Blue Tokai and Jugmug Thela that are tucked away but right in the middle of the city. Quirky décor and small fair lights make them perfect for conversations and coffee with your plus one. This place is also affordable for those who live in student hostels in Saket. A little outside Champa Gali is another charming café called Rose Café; its exposed brick and floral décor make it a cute place for a catch-up.

Spend a Day at Dhanmill Compound

Dhanmill Compound is popular for its designer boutique shops and picturesque cafes. The stores are a bit on the pricier side but a little window shopping never hurt anyone. It is a great alternative to the malls and this compound offers more than enough Instagram-worthy spots. Check out Café Dori, Quick Brown Fox, or Colocal Chocolate Cafe for a cup of coffee and some good food.

Spend a date at Connaught Place and Janpath

Centrally located with a range of budget options and activities, this is an ideal date place for those who live in a PG near bungalow road to those who are at student hostels in Saket. This place has an old British-era charm; very little has changed in terms of architecture and layout since the British left. You can shop at Janpath, get a few trinkets, grab a coffee at Depauls, walk over to the inner circle – shop, eat, drink, watch a movie – whatever catches your fancy. There is more than enough to do in this part of Central Delhi. Walking around Connaught Place is one of the things you definitely need to do with your crush. This architectural marvel boasts of a host of evergreen specialities like Keventer’s milkshakes and Wenger’s pastries and sandwiches.

Tom Uncle’s Maggi, North Campus

Just walking around the North campus and exploring the colleges is a great way to see the city with your date. This area is lined with more than enough places to eat – from the popular Tom Uncle’s Maggi to Rico’s burgers to momos on the street; this place has an amazing variety to suit all. If you are in a hostel near bungalow road, Delhi’s North campus area exudes college feels. You can sit by the roadside and dig into a piping hot plate of comforting Maggi. An unusual but definitely cool way to spend the day.

With these ideas and more, impress your loved one and have a great time.
