Delhi University, also known as DU is one of the most coveted and popular universities in India. While no student will ever call it a festival because it is a ‘DU fest it is one of the most spectacular seasons where you will get amazing food, get to see some great performances by renowned artists, and be part of lots of fun activities.

Students from all over India attend DU. It offers a student life that one should definitely experience if given a chance. 1)Crossroads, Sri Ram College of Commerce (SRCC)

As they jokingly say, this is probably the best way to enter SRCC since getting admission into this college requires grades that are sky-high. This star fest has witnessed the performances of many great musicians such as Nucleya, Guru Randhawa, Benny Dayal, Salim Sulaiman, and Armaan. This fest also brings out the competitive spirit in everyone through the numerous competitions and activities that can be enjoyed by all. An entertaining fest has games, singing, dancing, and other activities. It is also a delight for the foodies as there are various food trucks at this event serving some lip-smacking food. A cheerful crowd and joyous event deem this the ultimate 4-day must-visit extravaganza. We can’t wait to attend upcoming du fest.

2)Mecca, Hindu

Hindu college’s annual fest is undeniably as remarkable as its heritage and name. One of the most prestigious colleges of DU, Hindu organizers leave no stone unturned in ensuring that Mecca is one of the most enjoyable Delhi university fest of all time. It is not only the perfect place to shake a leg and have a blast but also to showcase your talent. Slam poetry, dance competitions, ‘Beat Box battle’ and poster making among other interesting competitions bring out the best in all its participants. This fest has seen the likes of Papon, Amit Trivedi, Mohit Chauhan, Vishal-Shekhar, Sukhwinder Singh, and more perform here. It is very rare to find a disappointed face in the crowd at Mecca. Well, we are waiting for DU fests 2022 now.

3)Tarang, Lady Sri Ram 

Calling this a well-managed fest is an understatement. LSR is an all-girls college with some of the most notable alumni, and no wonder they manage to attract the biggest names in the business. From stand-up comedians like Kunal Kamra to superbly talented rock bands such as The Indian Ocean, the vibe at this DU college fest is nothing short of magical. With competitions such as ‘Write Out Loud’, Battle of Bands’ and ‘Montage Exposure’, Tarang becomes even more entertaining making sure there is something for everyone to enjoy and look forward to.

4)Tempest, Miranda House

Miranda House’s annual cultural fest is one for those who love and enjoy entertainment. This fest in Delhi university is a treat for the music, culture and theatre art lovers, this fest has popular competitions such as ‘Izhar’ (Stage Play), Battle of Bands’, Tarangini’ (group folk dance), and ‘Indian Cinema Quiz’. Music enthusiasts never miss this fest as they have seen the likes of MojoJojo, Tempest, Parashara, and Jubin Nautiyal perform here. With its exuberant atmosphere and liveliness, this fest attracts huge crowds from all over DU.

5)Nexus, Sri Venkateshwara College

Sri Venkateshwara College’s annual cultural fest is one of the best college fests in Delhi to attend in South Campus. With great events and amazing competitions such as face painting, Cappella, and various quizzes, it keeps its visitors entertained. Like the other colleges, SVC also brings in some great musicians to keep the crowd grooving to their great beats. Mohit Chauhan, Sunidhi Chauhan, and other great singers have played a key role in pulling some great crowds from all of Delhi to this fest.

6)Renaissance, Kirori Mal College

The annual fest of Kirori Mal College is yet another great fest and one of the best fest in DU that is full of energy and pulls in huge numbers. This fest has seen a lot of Punjabi stars such as the Late Jagjit Singh, Mika, Hardy Sandhu, Parmish Verma and this is what makes Renaissance stand out from the rest. If you want to dance the evening away to some energetic Punjabi beats, this event captivates you like none other. For a true North campus vibe along with some good food and music, this is where you have to be.

7)Montage, Jesus and Mary College

This fest is absolutely unmatched and is considered as the best college fests in Delhi. It has an electrifying vibe that’ll make you dance like no one is watching. Their signature EDM nights have seen the performances of great artists such as VanMoon, which is nothing short of spectacular. This college has multiple societies that organize various intriguing competitions and activities for visitors to showcase their talent. While the bhel puri and Kathi rolls of this canteen are ever so famous, the fest brings in a lot of other food vendors as well. This one is sure to provide you with an exhilarating experience that you would remember.

8)Reverie, Gargi College 

Apart from some of the best food and great deals, this fest is characterised by some really cool stalls. From fashionable merchandise and ethical handicrafts to cool accessories, this fest has more than enough to keep its visitors busy! The three-day fest has multiple events such as theatre, magic shows, dance performances, stand-up comedy, and a lot of competitions. A great fest to have a great time, Reverie is a South Campus fest that one must visit.

9)Lashkara, Khalsa College

It should come as no surprise that you will find the best Punjabi singer line-up at this popular North campus fest. SGTB Khalsa College’s annual fest, Lashkara brings together amazing talented students who showcase their skills in art, music, dance, photography, theatre, literature and debating etc. A great place to get your bhangra moves on, Lashkara is a dynamic and lively festival that will help you unwind and let loose. This is one of the best Delhi university fests. 

With each college aiming to outdo the other, they all end up with some extremely amazing fests and ensure their crowds have a great time. For those of you who are lucky enough to be in a your-space PG in Shakti Nagar, Rajpur Road, Kailash Colony, or any place close to the college, you can just hop over without worrying about parking or having to deal with the crowds and have a great time. Please be safe as sometimes the crowds get out of control making it difficult for the organizers to manage the sheer numbers. Having said that, these are the best years of your life and if you are a student in Delhi, attending a college festival in Delhi should definitely be on your list of things to do.
