About Christ University

Established in 1969 the Christ College, was born out of the educational vision of St Kuriakose Elias Chavara, an educationist and social reformer of the nineteenth century in South India. He was the founder of the first Catholic indigenous congregation, Carmelites of Mary Immaculate (CMI), in 1831 which administered CHRIST (Deemed to be University).

The college undertook path-breaking initiatives in Indian higher education with the introduction of an innovative and modern curriculum, focussing on academic discipline, and adoption of global higher education practices with the support of creative and dedicated staff. CHRIST (Deemed to be University), is an academic fraternity of individuals and a premier educational institution dedicated to the motto of ‘EXCELLENCE AND SERVICE.’ Christ University has three campuses, Hosur Road, Bannerghatta and Kengeri.

COVID-19 – What are the additional responsibilities taken at your-space?

We are taking sufficient measures to ensure that all our properties are safe for our students. We follow a strict protocol which includes-

. Deep cleaning and sanitization of buildings, rooms and common areas

. All commonly touched surfaces cleaned every 2-3 hours

. All common areas to be used with reduced capacity to ensure social distancing

. All common areas equipped with sanitizers

. All room configurations arranged to ensure students are at a safe distance from their roommate

. Contactless entry to buildings with temperature screening, sanitization capabilities and facial recognition technology.

. All food is cooked by your-space employed individuals (no outsourcing) to ensure safety
standards are adhered to. We are the only student housing company that does this!

. All support staff will be provided with protective gear such as masks and gloves and will be screened every day for temperature. They have also downloaded the Aarogya Setu app to ensure they are not in contact with high-risk individuals

. Further, there is a detailed SOP for all scenarios on which the your-space team has been rigorously trained over the last 3 months

How much do I need to pay for the Your-Space Christ University hostels/PGs?

Our prices start at 15,000/- INR per person. The prices vary depending on the type of sharing and amenities.

How many meals will I get in a day?

We usually provide Breakfast, Lunch, Evening Snacks and Dinner at this hostel. Your-Space offers home-cooked meals from our specially curated menus prepared by well-experienced chefs. We take utmost care of hygiene in our kitchen. We have been highly rated consistently for our food!

Where are the Your-Space Christ University hostels/PGs located?

We have two hostels for Christ University students – one in Koramangala,Hosur Road for Girls and one in Bannerghatta with separate buildings for Girls and Boys. Both these Hostels are just 4-5 mins away from the college. Both hostels are strategically located thus ensuring minimum travel for students.

Are guests allowed?

Yes, of course. Id proof is mandatory though. Overnight stay for friends and parents is allowed after permission from management and respective roommates. However, we don’t allow male guests beyond a certain time limit in the evening at female hostels and vice versa.

Do I have to pay any brokerage while booking a PG at your-Space?

No. We do not charge any brokerage from our guests. We have a fair and transparent rental structure where we charge a monthly rental fee and a fully refundable security deposit. No extra charges guaranteed!

Which all amenities are included in my rent?

You will find fully-furnished rooms, including but not limited to a bed and wardrobe with ample storage space, comfortable mattress, study table etc.
Outside your room, you get a common room space with access to a TV. You also have access to high-speed internet, housekeeping, delicious meals, laundry, Gym etc. Access to Your-Space community programs and offers are add on benefits. To sum it up, you will find everything under the sun in one place so that you live hassle-free.

Festivals

Christ hosts many fests and festivals every year. Few of them are:

Prarambh– Is a business fest conducted by the Department of Commerce exclusively for first-year students. Students can take part in a variety of business events such as Marketing, HR, Finance, Mock Stock, Entrepreneurship Development, Business Quiz, Integration, PR and Best Manager.

Prayas– Organised by the Department of Commerce, It is a National Inter-Collegiate Business and Management fest which seeks to give students a chance to be exposed to the real-time world of business, and test their mettle to deal with practical problems.

Mitige– Is an annual inter-class competition for the students of the Department of Commerce. Various on-stage and offstage events (Commerce and non-commerce) happen over a period of 2 weeks, as the classes battle it out for points.

Christ University has a Boys hostel within campus named Jonas Hall and a Girls Hostel named St. Kuriakose Elias Hall. The hostels are equipped with all basic amenities for the students.
